Tomato Soup

This is one of the plants I got at GWA last year.  I think it is Echinacea ‘Tomato Soup’.  I BOUGHT a ‘Tomato Soup’ from Plant Delights, but everything looked so pathetic when I planted, and then took forever to come up this spring, that I can’t be entirely sure which one it is.

  1. It certainly looks like Tomato Soup.
My garden variety echinacea is starting to bloom and I have a couple of seedlings that may be Twilight. We’ll have to wait and see….;)

  2. Katie, I bought ‘Tomato Soup’ last year and I just love it. It survived our zone 5 winter here in NW Ohio and is doing well so far, though not blooming just yet. You can see a photo I took of it last year on our Soil Sisters site. The color of yours looks right for ‘Tomato Soup,’ although the petals have space between them. Subsequent blooms might be more tightly spaced though. Isn’t the color beautiful? 🙂

  3. It’s a surprisingly attractive flower~I admit, I’ve been a bit resistant to some of the new coneflowers~the ones that look like a pink snowball! gail

  4. It’s beautiful, I love the red color.
